Vlad Barbulica

Product Design and Development, AB

Advisor:  Christopher Bull

Capstone:  Furniture Design

Capstone Advisors:  Paul Myoda, Daniel Stupar

Product Design and Development is the human-centered exploration of aesthetics and ergonomics used in creating the next generation of products for society.

My capstone looks at the ideation, design, and fabrication of two furniture pieces (coffee table and dining room table) that share common design elements. Emphasis is placed on ideating several design solutions and on the fabrication process of creating such pieces.

“While I did not have the opportunity to work with you on an independent basis, Vlad, I will never forget our first class meeting in Why Don't We Fall In Love. I so enjoyed reading your 'forest exercise' aloud, in part because you brought such energy, intelligence, and positivity to class. And that good energy never waned! Continue to be such a light in the lives of others and you'll never see a dark day in your life.” --Andrew Colarusso

"Whether turning tree trunks into furniture, building rockets for the Children's Museum, or advocating for design at Brown, Vlad always brought a clear vision of what he wanted and a determination to stick with it until the vision was realized." --Chris Bull

"Thank you for serving as an IC Coordinator for three semesters, Vlad! I will miss you!"

--Peggy Chang
