Capstone: Abridged: A Game about Riddles and Grief

Capstone Advisor: Jeff Huang

Game Design and Development is the study of how games are created and experienced, in light of the cultural and historical significance of the medium. This concentration teaches core technical skills necessary to develop video games while acknowledging and incorporating the ultimately human philosophies and psychologies behind games.

“Abridged” is a riddle-based video game centered around the theme of grief. Playing off tropes of traditional role-playing games, it asks players to think outside of the box. Design, programming, writing, and art by Heidi, with sound and music by the lovely JD Calvelli and Zackary Entwistle.

Heidi, it has been a pleasure being your advisor for this independent study you developed, and working with you on CSCI 1300 and the GISP. You have a uniquely creative mind and optimism, and I look forward to the amazing things you do after Brown. Keep in touch! Jeff Huang
