Food and Culture analyzes the interplay between food and the greater scale of humanity, through the lenses of narratives, agricultural practices, and cultural context. This concentration studies different forms of expression surrounding food, such as audio, visual, and written work. It also analyzes humankind’s relationship with food both from a historical and contemporary perspective.
"A Dash of Awkward" is an online space in which people can share their experiences with food, culture, and/or identity without fear of being targeted. It's a place in which people can find themselves or their community within written, visual, and auditory narratives. And, if they don't see themselves, it's a safe space in which they can share their story.
