In the fall of 2013 I completed a GLISP on early medieval Irish literature. The GLISP was well worth the time and effort I put into it. I was pushed to access resources unique to Ireland that I would not have otherwise. Trinity College Dublin has an incredible library and I spent many hours pursuing the world of early medieval Ireland through books-a world of sacred Cairns, saints, and fairies.
Ultimately, the project allowed me to more profoundly engage with the Irish landscape. The beauty and the power of the Irish landscape are obvious, even palpable. The GLISP allowed me to delve into how that landscape has offered narrative, power, and community, and this was thrilling.
