My GLISP was a terrific experience and a highlight of my academic career at Brown. One of the main reasons I loved it was because it allowed me the freedom to make mistakes, to try and apply what I’d learned in the classroom in a more free-form manner. It allowed me the opportunity to conduct a 'mini-thesis', independently contacting scholars and creating my own research plan. I learned a lot on the topic, and the experience heavily informed my decision to stay in development economics space after my graduation.
